About Us
Who We Are
Merkaz Letoras Hachassidus was established to bring the teachings of Chassidus through publications, shiurim and events.
The Baal Shem Tov related that he was brought to the Heichal of Moshiach, and the Baal Shem Tov asked him when he will come, to which the reply came לכשיפוצו מעיינותיך חוצה, when your wellsprings will spread out.
We are in a time when people are thirsty for meaning and depth, and are seeking to quench their thirst with the wellsprings of Chassidus. The Merkaz seeks to serve this need, to provide every person with the depth, meaning and understanding that Chassidus teaches, in the most practical and clear manner.
The Merkaz was established by Rabbi Avremel Raskin, by request of Rabbi Nachman Sudak ע”ה, Shliach of the Lubavitcher Rebbe זי”ע to the United Kingdom.
Why choose us
Publications
An important project of the Merkaz is to produce high-quality material on Chassidus, written in a clear and organised style. Many find the Chabad teachings to be out of reach for their depth and sheer amount of volumes, and these publications provide clarity in many subjects.
Through the course of the years, the Merkaz has produced hundreds of publications in the Yomim Tovim, fundamental ideas of Chassidus and guidance in Avodas Hashem, all culled from the vast library of Chabad Chassidus.
The uniqueness of these series is the style of presentation, providing the reader a full overview on the depth and meaning that Chassidus teaches in each topic.
The Yom Tov series were published throughout the years 5779-5786, and were published as a 800 page Sefer in the year 5786.
The Emunah project, covering the fundamentals of Yiddishkiet as explained in Chassidus, was produced in a series in the year 5780, and are currently being edited afresh. This series also covers many Emunah related topics as well.
The Parsha project, piloted in the year 5786, showcases the inner meaning of each Parsha, shows how each Parsha has a unique message and threads all the details of the Parsha together.
What We Offer
We believe that Chassidus is not only something to be studied, but something that gives a person clarity, direction and warmth in Avodas Hashem. It helps a person understand the meaning behind Torah and Mitzvos, strengthens connection to Yiddishkeit and brings depth to everyday life.
Public Shiurim
The Merkaz arranges ongoing Shiurim in Chassidus, including regular weekly learning, guest Shiurim and special sessions before Yomim Tovim. These Shiurim give people the opportunity to learn in a clear and structured way.
1-1 Chavrusos
Personal Chavrusos allow people to learn according to their own pace, level and interest. The Merkaz helps match people with learning opportunities that suit them, making Chassidus more approachable and personal.
Kollel Chassidus
The Kollel Chassidus is a structured weekly learning program for those who want to learn Chassidus in depth. It creates a serious Beis Midrash atmosphere, with consistent learning and a strong sense of purpose.
Farbrengens
Fabrengens are a core point of the life of Chassidus. Throughout the year many Fabrengens take place with guest Mashpi’im.
The Yud Tes Kislev Farbrengen, usually held on Motzei Shabbos in a large hall with a guest Mashpia, is an unique event for the wider community, and brings inspiration to the many participants.
Chol Hamoed Pesach has a large Niggunim event, which attracts many hundreds from all ages and stages.
Research
The Chabad library is vast, with over five hundred Seorim from the Chabad Rebbes, as well as many hundreds of publications, books and Seforim from Chassidim. The Merkaz receives many requests throughout the year to clarify topics and to find the right sources for various topics.
A valuable project of the research department is the Yalkut Hamoadim series, which produces a study guide for each Yom Tov, as well as printed books of materials to learn.
Guest Mashpi’im
The Merkaz regularly hosts respected Mashpi’im and speakers, giving the local community access to unique perspectives, inspiration and guidance.
The Heichal Limmud
The Heichal Limmud is a center for learning, Chavrusos, Shiurim and Fabrengens. With a large library of many seforim, this is the ideal place for anyone who seeks a Sefer Chassidus and a relaxed place to learn it.
The shiurim and fabrengens are uploaded on various platforms for others to hear as well.
Shiurim in the workplace
A recent project of the Merkaz, is to arrange short, 10 minute one-to-one shiurim in the workplace during lunchtime or office hours. These short sessions have a tremendous impact on the people who join and illuminates the entire week of an entrepreneur. Chassidus teaches that our purpose is not just to uplift ourselves, but to illuminate the world around us, and to do everything in the way of Kedusha and Avodas Hashem.
